A severe weather warning has been issued for parts of the Illawarra and south coast as a cold snap passes over NSW.
Heavy wind and rain is expected to hit Sydney, with flash flooding in the south coast.
Over 100mm of rain will fall overnight and tomorrow will see a scattering of heavy rain.
There will be a niggling drizzle in the city CBD, with Sydney's west also set to experience some rainfall.
“It’s a very complex situation but the main feature is a trough of low pressure. We don’t have a focal point of this low pressure system at this stage,” Bureau of Meteorology duty forecaster Helen Reid said, reports dailytelegraph.com.au.
“We do have a severe weather warning for heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding.”
