Police are appealing for information following the massive bushfire that ripped through Sydney's South West yesterday afternoon.
Just before 3pm on Saturday, fire fighters were called to Leacocks Reserve, Casula responding to an out-of-control grass fire.
However, with high winds the fire spread quickly to surrounding suburbs through Moorebank, Wattle Grove, Holsworthy and continues to burn in a southerly direction towards Menai and Heathcote.
Police are still trying to piece together exactly what caused the fire to start and are appealing for any wittness to come forward with information.
They are being asked to call all Liverpool detectives on (02) 9765 9499 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Penalties for starting a bushfire range from a $5500 fine through to 25-years imprisonment.
