Kangaroo Spotted Casually Hopping On Suburban Street 9 News

People overseas may believe that kangaroos are the preferred mode of transport for Australians, with a common misconception surrounding the number of kangaroos typically encountered day-to-day in suburbia.

However, some commuters in western Sydney were in for a surprise this morning, with a kangaroo spotted casually hopping down the streets of Wetherill Park at roughly 8.30am.

“My reaction was in shock at first and then just cracking up laughing because we never see that in the western suburbs,” a witness told 9News.

A video has surfaced of the incident, in which the kangaroo bounds down the middle of the road before turning into the driveway of a house.
