The Port Stephens suburb has featured on a list ranking the country's Champagne drinking hotspots, according to sales data from wine retailer Cellarmasters.
Nelson Bay is ranked 8th, while the affluent Sydney suburb of Mosman tops the list.

According to stats from the Champagne region’s official website, Australia is the sixth biggest export market for Champagne, with over 8.5 million bottles of the French Fizz consumed in 2017.
“Aussies are drinking more Champagne than ever. Champagne has traditionally been the drink of celebrations, but Aussies are finding more and more reasons to drink bubbles simply because it’s so delicious,” said Christine Ricketts, Cellar Director at Cellarmasters.
