Police are hunting a group of thugs who attacked and robbed an international student at the University of Newcastle.
20-year-old Abdullah Qaiser was driving through the uni's Callaghan campus on Saturday when his path was blocked by about eight people on Ring Road.
A man wearing knuckle dusters punched him in the face breaking his nose, while also yelling racial abuse.
A woman then stole his mobile phone from the passenger seat.
Mr Qaiser moved to Australia from Pakistan to study engineering.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage of the attack.
The man's described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his early 20's, of a muscular build and short blond hair.
The woman's described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in her early 20's, of a slim build, and with long blonde/brown hair in a ponytail.
