It’s been a day of Gold medals, team glory and proposals for the Aussies athletes on Day 10 of the Commonwealth Games.

The Opals romped to a massive 99-55 win in the Gold medal match in the Women’s Basketball, before guard Nicole Seekamp was proposed to by her partner, to which she said yes.

Meanwhile the Boomers are in to the Men’s Gold Medal match after smashing Scotland 103 to 46 early in the day.

Over at the Hockey fields the Kookaburras claimed the Gold in a 2-0 win over New Zealand, while the Hockeyroos couldn’t match that result in the Women’s final, losing to the Kiwis 4-1 to take home the Silver.

It was a wildly successful day for our Boxers on the final day of bouts, with the Aussies winning three of their five Gold medal matches.

Yatala’s Skye Nicolson emerged victorious in a tight points win over Northern Ireland’s Michaela Walsh, while Anja Stridsman and Harry Garside also had wins.

While Jason Whateley and Caitlin Parker lost their bouts to pick up the Silver medals.

It was a Gold medal double at the Road Cycling, with countrymen Chloe Hosking and Steele Von Hoff both finishing first in their Road Race finals.

Over at Carrara Stadium Nicola McDermott picked up Bronze in the Women’s High Jump, while Hamish Peacock won Silver in the Men’s Javelin Throw.

Domonic Bedggood continued his stellar run at the Diving by taking home Gold in the Men’s 10m Platform, and in the Women’s 3m Springboard the Silver and Bronze medals went to Aussie pair Maddison Keeney and Anabelle Smith respectively.

Australia’s duo of Donna Urquhart and Cameron Pilley beat India 2-0 in the Mixed Doubles final at the Squash to claim the Gold, while in the Shooting the Silver in the Queen’s Prize event went to Jim Bailey.

And in Table Tennis we claimed two medals in the Women’s TT6-10 finals, with Melissa Tapper winning Gold and Andrea McDonnell with Bronze.
