$15k playground for The Entrance North

More for Lake Munmorah School.

$15k playground for The Entrance North Mr MacDonald (right), with ENPA members this morning.

The Entrance North is getting a new playground, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the suburb's Progress Association.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Coast Scot MacDonald headed to Matron simpson reserve this morning to announce the state government will put $9500 towards the project, on top of $5000 funding from the ENPA.

Mr MacDonald says the group has been working towards the new playground for around a year.

"There is no other playground within about two and a half or three kilometres of that area, and the ENPA believes there are young families moving there," Mr MacDonald said.

Bob Mulvey, Chairperson of the Entrance North Progress Association, believes this project is a great outcome for his small community and shows what can be achieved with commitment from the local residents and working with local and state government.

Mr MacDonald then headed north to announce a $1.4 million commitment to a $2 million project at St.Brendan's catholic primary school, Lake Munmorah.

"This will build eight new learning centres (classrooms) in a two-storey building - contemporary design - a big improvement for the school."

"It'll be an open and flexible learning environment, which is how education is delivered these days."
